BRICK – New Garden State Parkway North entrance ramps at Exit 91 from both Burnt Tavern and Burrsville Roads are anticipated to open on Thursday, August 24.
A new traffic signal at Burrsville Road and the Parkway will be activated and the current traffic signal at Burnt Tavern Road and Dave Reid Road will be deactivated and removed. The existing Parkway North ramp on Burnt Tavern Road will be closed permanently.
Also, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority will be opening the Garden State Parkway North exit ramp on Burrsville Road to vehicles on or about 3 a.m. on Friday, August 25.
A new Parkway North entrance ramp on Lanes Mill Road was already opened on August 10. Signage will direct drivers to use these additional entrance ramps opening on the 24th.
“On Aug. 30 we expect construction of Lanes Mill Road and Burnt Tavern Road to be completed and the final signal configuration is expected to be activated,” said Freeholder John P. Kelly in a statement. “Upon completion of this work, Interchange 91 will be in its final configuration. There will be some additional closeout work in the area.”
The county has been gradually applying changes to the traffic signals and patterns at Exit 91 since May. The most significant improvement is having both northbound and southbound Parkway entrance and exit ramps at the interchange. Previously, Exit 91 only let vehicles driving northbound get on the Parkway, while only southbound traffic could exit.
