BRICK – A township man has been arrested in connection with a string of motor vehicle burglaries that targeted neighborhoods in the southern portion of the township, police announced.

David Forrester, chief of the Brick Township Police Department, confirmed that Christopher Conners, 38, was taken into custody following a focused investigation into multiple vehicle break-ins reported over recent weeks.

Police said the incidents were largely concentrated in residential areas near Mantoloking Road and Drum Point Road, prompting increased patrols and a coordinated investigative effort. Detectives relied on surveillance footage, community tips and patrol observations to identify Conners as a suspect.

Conners was apprehended on December 23, 2025, according to police.

Chief Forrester credited local residents for playing a key role in helping officers bring the investigation to a close, noting that timely reports and shared video footage proved critical.

Police continue to remind residents to take basic precautions to prevent thefts, urging motorists to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from plain view as part of the department’s ongoing “Lock It or Lose It” campaign.

The investigation was led by Officer Terence Berkeley. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Brick Township Police Department at 732-262-1100.

All charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
