BERKELEY – Clara B. Worth Elementary School has just reopened after police were investigating the area due to a potential threat this morning on the first day of school, Berkeley Police said.

At 7:15 a.m., police received a call from Dolphin Circle, the neighborhood adjacent to Clara B. Worth School, regarding an incident involving possible firearms and a person injured.

As a precaution, a perimeter was set up and the students were re-routed to Berkeley Township Elementary School until the situation was resolved.

Police said the original incident was unfounded and no victim or firearm were located at this time.

The neighborhood and the school were cleared and students have since returned, police said. The incident is currently under investigation and additional police presence will be seen at the schools.
