Police Seek Info About Shooting In Berkeley

BERKELEY – Police are looking for information regarding shots fired in the Manitou Park section of Berkeley Township.

  A 29-year-old man was injured with a bullet fragment hitting his face, but no other injuries were reported, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. He was treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River and released.

  The shooting happened at around 3 p.m. on April 12, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Berkeley Township Police Chief Karin DiMichele. 

  The location of the shooting wasn’t explained by police, but an early report suggested that it happened near the basketball courts. Police had said that the 911 call came from a Third Avenue residence. The basketball courts are by the old schoolhouse on Third Avenue.
