BERKELEY – A Beachwood man has been arrested in connection with a Jan. 23 road rage incident on Veterans Boulevard.

Berkeley Township Police said Salvatore Murante Jr., 37, was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of child endangerment Feb. 21. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated and having an open container of alcohol. All the charges stem from the Jan. 23 incident, in which he was operating his vehicle with juveniles in it.

Murante Jr. allegedly attacked Scott Moore, 55, of Bayville, who sustained cuts to his hands. He was taken to Community Medical Center, and was eventually charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Another person at the scene suffered stab wounds and was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for non-life-threatening injuries.
