BEACHWOOD – A home on Pacific Avenue was found engulfed in flames and smoke in the afternoon of February 6, and officials were still investigating the cause as of press time.
Both the Beachwood and Pine Beach Fire Departments responded to the scene and found the fire inside the rear of the home, extending up throughout the attic.
According to officials, no one was home at the time of the fire. Firefighters were able to remove two dogs, however one did not make it and sadly passed away.
The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries. Officials said the home is uninhabitable as a result of the fire.
Assisting at the scene were Beachwood and South Toms River EMS, the Manitou Park Fire Department, the Pinewald Fire Department and the Ocean County Fire Coordinators.
At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office.
