Hazmat Situation Quickly Defused In Manitou Park

BERKELEY – Crews quickly responded to a hazmat situation in Manitou Park this morning.

The Manitou Park Fire Company, along with the Berkeley Hazmat Station 85, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company, and South Toms River EMS, were dispatched at 9:45 a.m. to assess five barrels of liquid on an unidentified property.

The Hazmat team determined the barrels were safe.

Dumping of any kind is illegal, but especially liquids and combustibles of any kind.
