BERKELEY – Officials are investigating a house fire after getting reports of explosions coming from a garage.
At around 7:30 a.m. on February 14, multiple fire companies responded to a vacant home on Venezia Street in Holiday City.
The first units to arrive saw that there was a fire in the garage and shut off the gas to prevent it from spreading, according to the Manitou Park Fire Company.
The cause is still under investigation at this time. Berkeley Township Police referred a reporter from JerseyShoreOnline.com to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. So far, they have not responded to our request for comment.
Manitou Park Fire Company, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Co., Bayville Volunteer Fire Dept. and Toms River Fire Company 2 were among the units who responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, Berkeley Township Fire Prevention, and the Berkeley Township Police Department.
