Driver Ejected In Two-Vehicle Crash

  BERKELEY – Two drivers are seriously injured as a result of a crash near a Garden State Parkway entrance this morning, police said.

  The crash occurred around 9 a.m. near the area of Double Trouble Road and the Garden State Parkway South entrance.

  According to police, a 2012 Honda Civic was driving southbound on Double Trouble Road and attempted to make a left onto the Garden State Parkway South ramp when it was hit by a 2009 Ford 250 Van driving in the northbound lane on Double Trouble Road.

  Subsequently, the driver of the van was ejected from his car and sustained multiple injuries. He was brought to Jersey Shore Medical Center via medevac, police said. 

  The driver of the Honda also sustained several injuries and was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center via medevac. 

  Ptl. Shoemaker and Ptl. Flanegan responded to the scene to investigate the incident on behalf of the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Division. Ocean County C.S.I. assisted. Both vehicles were rendered disabled and were towed from the scene by Priced Rite Towing.
