Driver Ejected From Car In Ocean County Crash

  BERKELEY – A man was injured after being ejected from his car in a single-car crash Tuesday afternoon, police said.

  Around 3:51 p.m., authorities received several 911 calls regarding a single-vehicle crash on Dover Road near the Lacey Township border. The driver, a 49-year-old man, was laying in the roadway ejected from the passenger side of a Ford F-150, which had extensive damage. Berkeley Township EMS also responded as well as paramedics, police said.

  The man was driving southbound on Dover Road heading into Lacey Township. He was ejected out of the passenger side of the care after going off the roadway and striking numerous trees along the wood-line.

  Police said the driver was responsive on the scene and had suffered trauma to his head due to the crash. He was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson by MEDEVAC for further evaluation. At this time, he is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

  The vehicle was later removed without further incident. 

  The crash is currently under investigation by Officer Bulwinski of the Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Bureau.
