BERKELEY – A Frederick Drive resident was arrested and charged with DWI May 25.
Robert N. Castro, 50, was driving his white 2002 Chevy Silverado when he reportedly crashed it into several parked vehicles on the 400 block of Western Boulevard. Police arrived to find that car parked in the roadway with body damage.
Castro appeared to be intoxicated, and admitted to police on the scene that he consumed alcohol earlier that evening. Police also report Castro admitted to becoming distracted while driving and crashed into the vehicles.
Castro failed the standardized field sobriety test and was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated. He was also issued summonses for reckless and careless driving. His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.
He was processed at police headquarters and released to family.
