TOMS RIVER – A 57-year-old Toms River man was killed after his SUV struck a tree along the Garden State Parkway, authorities said.
Mark Edgell was traveling south in a Nissan SUV when the vehicle hit a guardrail near milepost 103.1, veered off the left side of the highway and crashed into a tree, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
The crash was reported at approximately 4:45 p.m. Thursday, September 10. Edgell sustained fatal injuries.
State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
