STAFFORD — A Manahawkin woman was charged following a single-vehicle crash that knocked down a utility pole and closed Route 9 in Stafford Township for several hours overnight, police said.

According to Stafford Township Police, officers responded around midnight on May 18, to the area of 782 Route 9 South for a reported crash.

Investigators said Jacqueline De Jesus Trujillo Flores, 29, was driving a white 2019 Honda CR-V southbound when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The impact caused the pole and utility wires to fall into the roadway.

Authorities closed Route 9 in both directions while utility crews repaired the damage. Traffic was detoured through Mayetta Landing Road and Cedar Run Dock Road. The roadway reopened later in the morning after repairs were completed.

Police said no injuries were reported in the crash.

Flores was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to maintain lane. Her vehicle was heavily damaged and towed from the scene.
