
TOMS RIVER — A person suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle outside the ShopRite on Fischer Boulevard in Toms River on July 14, according to a family member.
Exit 82 Scanner News reported emergency responders initially requested a medevac due to the severity of the injuries, but inclement weather forced transport by ambulance to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The victim sustained multiple injuries, including swelling of the head, facial lacerations, stitches to one eyelid, and a partially amputated ear that will require plastic surgery.
The individual, who was reportedly pinned under the vehicle, is alert and conscious but does not recall the incident. They remain hospitalized for further treatment.
Toms River Police have not yet released additional details on the incident or whether any charges will be filed.
