Micromedia Publications/Jersey Shore Online, Ocean County’s premier source for news and information, has a rare opening in the news department.
The company is seeking a full time Digital News Reporter for its seven community newspapers and high-traffic website in Ocean/Monmouth County.
The reporter will answer directly to the news editor and Vice President, and will be responsible for news gathering and reporting, writing breaking news & features, crafting stories for print & web and handling the copy desk.
Excellent news judgment and communication skills are imperative. Knowledge of WordPress, social media and photography skills are a plus.
In addition to working out of our Lakehurst office, the candidate must be able to attend municipal meetings and community events – some nights and after hours are required.
Car and driver’s license A MUST. Local candidates preferred.
Experience is helpful, but recent college graduates who have studied journalism, English or a related subject area will be considered.
