No Injuries In Beachwood House Fire

UPDATE 4:30 p.m.BEACHWOOD – Both of the people who were inside a home on the 1100 block of Spar Avenue made it out safely, Police Chief Robert Tapp reported.

  The fire was reported at 10:38 a.m. on May 21, he said. The two occupants were able to get out by themselves. No first responders were injured in the incident either.

  One pet was rescued from the fire, but one is unaccounted for, Fire Chief Roger Hull said.

  The home belonged to one of the auxiliary fire department members, he said. This member was not home at the time.

  However, the home itself sustained significant damage and is not livable, he said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Beachwood Fire Company was the first to respond, followed by other companies, including Manitou Park, Bayville, Pinewald, Toms River No. 2 and Pine Beach.

Multiple agencies responded to a house fire on the 1100 block of Spar Avenue this morning.

  Witnesses said that fire and first aid companies from Beachwood, Manitou Park, Bayville, and Ocean Gate responded to the fire.

  It is unknown at this time what the cause of the fire is, or if there were any injuries. Beachwood police is at the scene of the fire.
