We Shouldn’t Pump Our Own Gas

Another stupid (in my opinion) bill in the works: “Pump your own gas.”

I have motored through many states and pumped my own gas and still paid a higher price more per gallon than in New Jersey.

The “pitfalls:” pump your gas in rain or snow, accidently spill gas on your clothes, learn how to start the pump, picture older or infirm people trying to get out to pump gas.

Then there is the plus side for gas station owners: no payroll (jobs) for those now to be unemployed gas attendants. Your per gallon cost may not be lower, but your medical insurance premiums may be higher due to “gas pumping accidents.”
