JACKSON – Two men were arrested on drug charges after resident complaints led police to patrol the area.

Austin Kroeger, age 21 of Farmingdale, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was released and has a pending court date.

Joseph Santanello, age 21 of Jackson, was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana in a quantity greater than one ounce but less than five pounds, possession with intent to distribute cocaine in a quantity of one ounce or more, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance while operating a motor vehicle. His 2012 Mazda was seized pending forfeiture proceedings, police said.

Santanello was released pending a future court date.

Jackson Township Police received numerous complaints about “suspected narcotics activity” around Teakwood Drive, Ash Road and Mimosa Court on June 12. Police surveilled the area, and followed the suspected vehicle—the Mazda—to Arboretum Court where they said they witnessed a transaction.
